We have dogsledding journeys to suit everyone. Before departing on your excursion, you will receive a thorough introduction to dogsledding that will enable you to drive your own team of huskies safely and with confidence. If you prefer, you can also ride comfortably as a passenger in your guide’s sled. We welcome groups, couples, singles and families. For families we especially recommend the Best of Arctic Lapland excursion, where the minimum age for driving your own sled is 15 years old. Excursions that include dogsledding require an average level of fitness. Our family dogsledding program is designed specifically to suit the whole family.

In addition to our lodge-based excursions we also offer more extensive expeditions where you will travel for several days by dog sled and sometimes also cross national borders during your journey. During our expeditions we will stay in wilderness accommodation along the trail or in a tent, depending on weather and trail conditions. A good level of fitness is needed to participate in our expeditions.

COMPLETELY PRIVATE TOURS

All our dogsledding programs are operated exclusively for one private party at a time, meaning that we do not mix different groups and you will only share your Arctic adventure with the people you have booked your holiday with. Occasionally, there will be other private parties passing by one of our wilderness camps, but your accommodation and activities are always separate and private, and throughout your journey you are accompanied by your own professional wilderness guide from Fjellborg Arctic Journeys.

RUSTIC LUXURY

We pride ourselves on providing our guests with wonderfully comfortable lodge accommodations with great cuisine and personalised service. Besides our Homestead and Kennel in Poikkijärvi, we own two wilderness lodges in different locations in Swedish Lapland. This enables us to provide unique and comfortable lodge-to-lodge dogsledding excursions in the Torne River Valley area. Our guests stay in cosy and private log cabins at night, while the main building of each lodge is used for socialising and dining.

Our exclusive dogsledding journeys can be combined with other attractions in Arctic Lapland. LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY

Your dogsledding adventure in the remote wilderness of Arctic Lapland is within surprisingly easy reach. Kiruna is a 90 min direct flight from Stockholm, Sweden, and the Fjellborg Homestead in Poikkijärvi is a quick 20 min drive from the airport. As a guest of Fjellborg Arctic Journeys you will be greeted at Kiruna Airport by your private guide.
